It’s now day 3 of the annual January retreat of the Piece Mill Quilters. We have 15 women designing, creating, talking, sharing, eating and have a grand time. As usual, I brought many more projects than I could possibly get done. I started on the first day by finishing my latest Stupendous Stitching project. This little piece is about 17″ square.
My next project, Going for the Gold, was a One Block Wonder quilt. My Rambling Art Group all bought the same fabric and the challenge was to make a unique quilt. The quilt top is about 3′ by 4′ and took about a day and half to design and piece. On the third day of retreat, I went for the quick and fun! Beth brought me a stack of Hawaiian fat quarters which I used to make the Swirly Girls Ring Toss pattern. I used the new circle cutting ruler from Creative Grids to cut the rings and circles. Here’s a detail. The fabrics make it very bright and cheerful!
