Weekend Fun

It’s always fun when friends come to visit and we get to play for the weekend. This time we really played because two of our visitors were 3 and 5. The boys all went to the zoo on Saturday while the girls went thrift store shopping. Lily Liu is a shibori artist who transforms recycled clothing into works of art. The photo above is a sample of the shibori. She also does fiber sculpture, ceramics, and felting! She is a truly talented person. I’m now the proud owner of one of her fiber sculptures.

Her husband, John Hasegawa, is a ceramic artist. Here is a sample of his gorgeous work.

On Sunday we all went to Missouri Botanical Garden to see a bit of the Chinese lantern show. We also spent lots of time in the children’s garden. We finished up the weekend fun with lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant. It was a great weekend!
