Quilted Fox Retreat Part 2

On the second day of retreat, I tackled the Piece Mill Quilter’s challenge quilt. I received a fat quarter of a cute flower fabric. My challenge was to incorporate it in a child’s quilt no larger than 45 x 60. I had taken Candy Grisham’s class on the Liberating Log Cabin pattern at Quilted Fox. I decided to use the pattern for my challenge. The quilt above is the result. At the end of the challenge, after we show the quilt at the October guild meeting, all the quilts will be donated to Cardinal Glennon Hospital to go to sick children.

My final project at retreat was to sew the borders on my Flower Pots quilt. After two years in the making, I’m thrilled to have the quilt top completed. Now I just have to decide how I’m going to quilt it!
