Every year a group of 8 women gather in Paducah to stay with Caryl Bryer Fallert and help her run her shop Bryerpatch Studio during quilt show week. I’m privileged to be one of this wonderful group of women. Today we all arrived to find Paducah in an uproar. The regular venue for the show is on the wrong side of the city’s flood wall and the flood wall gates have been closed.
The rain keeps falling and the river is still rising. The rain is supposed to continue all week and the show has been moved to several new venues. But I know that here at Caryl’s, the fun and friendship will last all week despite the weather.
We went to the National Quilt Museum for a reception. It’s the 20th anniversary for the museum. Denise Havlan, who is one of our group of 8, is featured in the anniversary exhibit. Her quilt Muses for a Millennium was officially unveiled and inducted into the collection of the MAQS.

Wondered how it was going. Get lots of energy from there. Floods are bad. C
