What is better than going to one quilt retreat? Going to two quilt retreats in one month! Last week I went to the Piece Mill Quilter’s retreat. On Wednesday, I’ll be going to the Bits and Pieces retreat!
We had 4 great days of quilting with good friends at the PMQ retreat which is always extra fun because we have two former members, Bonnie and Sherry, who return for retreat. It’s always good to see them! I finished 3 small quilt tops.
My goal this year is to start using up some of my many precuts. Many of these were free ones from Quilt Market or things I’ve won. Some of them are ones that I’ve actually bought!
This is Smoke and Sunshine. The pattern is from “Precut Quilts” by Janie Lou. The quilt top is 49 x 52.5. It started with a free charm pack from Studio E.
I named this one Intersections. The pattern is also from “Precut Quilts” by Janie Lou. I started with a fat quarter packet that I won at the December Piece Mill Quilters meeting. I added the shaded fabric that connects the blocks. It’s a Nancy Crow piece that has been in my stash for at least 15 years. The color was just perfect! The quilt is 41″ x 57″.
Beads on a String is the third quilt top I finished. This one is a pattern from a new book called “Take 5 Fat Quarters”. I actually had 7 fat quarters so I was able to make the quilt a bit larger than the pattern. The quilt top is 42″ x 56″.
Quite a few quilt tops or quilts were finished by the 17 members present. Here is a sampling.
